Step Into My Shoes grew out of a desire to create a multi-sensory missions experience that would draw people into a deeper walk of faith and touch their hearts with the things that touch God’s. It follows the journey of real people in poverty, giving an intimate window into their lives. It’s designed to foster discipleship, expand global worldview, and encourage engagement in local and global service opportunities, including child sponsorship through Compassion.
Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty, with the goal being for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult. Compassion is the world’s leading authority in holistic child development through sponsorship.
Fuller Youth Institute’s (FYI) mission is to see faith-filled young people unleashed on the world around them. This goal is underpinned by the research arm of FYI which continuously assesses the needs and issues of contemporary youth and communicates its findings to the Church at large. Thoughtful research yields books, videos, speaking, coaching, and training to reach and keep youth involved in congregational life.
Compassion’s Church Engagement Team exists to come alongside the church body and help them actively engage in service and discipleship. We teach biblical principles but also give the church resources to put those principles into action. We want to turn “church attenders” into passionate disciples of Christ with a heart that beats globally for the broken and lost.
